Synthetic materials and dyes found in conventional pet beds can be as hazardous to our pets as they are to us. Research has found that the aromatic oils found in red cedar can be the cause of respiratory or allergic reactions in small animals. Add a synthetic cover made with chemical dyes and fabrics, and you may be providing your pet with unhealthful sleeping quarters.

 

These 100% certified organic pet beds are a healthful alternative to synthetic-covered, cedar or polyester-filled pet beds. The cushions are filled with 100% certified organic cotton and organically-grown buckwheat hulls--each sewn inside separate chambers--then covered with a 7-ounce, removable, washable cover made from colorgrown (no dyes) certified organic cotton canvas with a brass zipper closure. The two-chamber design allow pets to choose either the buckwheat or cotton-filled side. This allows pets to have a warm side for cold winter nights and a cool side for warm summer evenings. Pets can also customize the feel of the bed for comfort-- as they circle and nest, the buckwheat hulls will contour to the pet's body.

 

OrganicPedic pet beds are made without polyurethane foam, chemical flame retardants, formaldehyde, antifungicides, pesticide-treated cotton or other harmful chemicals--just pure certified organic cotton, Talalay 100% natural rubber and premium, cruelty-free, pure grow wool ("pure grow" means the sheep have not been dipped in pesticides).

Extra covers are available and sold separate as is a 25" x 30" Puddle Pad. This Eco-Wool™ Moisture Pad is naturally moisture resistant. Use it to help protect from soiling due to incontinence or other moisture-related concerns. Rinse the Puddle Pad in warm water and air dry. If necessary, add a small amount of biodegradable laundry soap (we suggest Eucalan, not detergent) to the water.
